The Saratoga County Republican Committee is out in force at the Saratoga County Fair, which runs from June 18th – 23rd. At our booth in the Smith Building, we’re conducting the first ever GOP Presidential Straw Poll.
Chairman Joe Whalen expressed excitement about the new poll, designed to allow fairgoers to express their voice when it comes to choosing the next GOP Presidential nominee. Whalen and a whole host of GOP officials and many of the county’s 384 GOP committee members have been and will be on hand to poll residents about who they may vote for in next year’s Presidential race, as well as weigh in on Gov. Hochul’s favorability and what local issues matter most to them.
Entrants who cast ballots are eligible to win a gas grill, symbolically defiant as Hochul and Democrats are spearheading a push to criminalize gas stoves, furnaces, ovens, grills, water heaters, dryers, pizza ovens, and generators. These policy changes will force New Yorkers to be reliant on outrageously expensive electric appliances at a time when inflation is still rampant and working families are feeling ever-increasing economic pressure. The change also places undue burdens on an electric grid that many see as already overburdened and vulnerable to collapse, foreign hacking threats and severe weather in the upstate region.
Whalen believes Saratoga County residents “deserve a choice as far as their safety and lives of their families are concerned during extreme weather events in any season.” Fairgoers are invited to vote in the poll which take 45 seconds to complete and add their names to a drawing for the grill prize, no purchase necessary. Results will be announced after the poll on our Facebook page and a winner for the door prize will be drawn Sunday night at the close of the fair.
